"So yeah, I've kind of worked out how I want my stairs to be, and.. how I want to fit it all in, and... basically, now, all I have to do is spend the rest of the video doing this: going in a circle around... my house and, just, sort of, eh-- m-my lighthouse, sorry, and placing these down" |
— Stampy explaining the rest of the episode plot in its simplest form in that he has to repeatedly place down blocks in a psuedo-circular motion. |
"A Lovely Lighthouse" is the 19th episode of Stampy's Lovely World. In this episode, Stampy shows the progress made on the second wing of his house, continues building the beginnings of a lighthouse, and investigates HitTheTarget98's fortress again.
Plot[]
The first episode on the main channel, digging the house futher, shoutouts, and the lava room[]
Stampy opens the episode inside of his bedroom, saying that this is the first video of his to be uploaded onto his main channel, stampylongnose, or at least what was his main channel at the time, and he leaves his bedroom and enters into the main middle area of the main section of his house. Stampy continues that he is doing this because it makes more sense to not split his content into two general areas, and will upload everything to the main channel only. Stampy tells the basic plan of the episode in that he is going to build a lighthouse, also pointing out that he is in the main section of his house, something he knows we as the viewers have seen before. Stampy says that that there is a new section of the house that we have not seen, however, as he travels down a bridge facing away from the storage area connecting the upcoming side of the house to the main section, making up the basic structure for the entire house.
Stampy walks deeper into the house section, showing that he has dug into the cliff opposite the storage area, and has only built a framework for the hallway, having it end on a double door set leading out to what will most likely be a balcony. Stampy enters through the door right closest to the double doors at the end of the hallway, showing that he has filtered out the interior materials of the cliff, and then repeats the action on the opposite side, stating that he will have rooms leading off, allowing him to build whatever he desires. Stampy then travels upward via the right stairwell when facing into the main section of the house, showing that it leads to the top, featuring a 2x2 window on the top landing. Stampy then travels up further, leading him to a bare field of grass on the hill where HitTheTarget98's fortress is.
Stampy suddenly sees a creeper next to said fortress, the creeper immediately hiding behind the entrance. Stampy realises it's his fortress and wonders if his dogs will be fine. Stampy spontaneously asks the viewers if they saw the creeper hiding in the doorway, and he decides to investigate. His approach of the creeper only lures it further towards him, however. Hitting it once, Stampy accidentally enables the third-person view, though he is unsure why, and due to his lack of experience, he simply decides to flee from the creeper by jumping off of the cliff and into the water as he begs the creeper not to chase him. The creeper follows him and looks down at the edge of the cliff. With the opportunity in mind, Stampy decides to also show the bottom section of the new house wing which can be accessed by a set of double doors below, showing there to be a hallway with stairs immediately banking upwards after a set of two doors on each side. Walking inside, he shows the bottom of the empty cliff, and explains that he actually used TNT to blow up the cliff interior to give him space. Stampy exits the area and closes both the doors, and then travels up to the middle floor to prepare to enter the door left closest to the bridge when facing the double doors at the end of the hallway, only to change his mind and instead show the bottom section's opposite side.
Stampy shows the door right when coming down to the stairs to show that the bottom of the house leads directly to the main section, breaking the dirt open to show the outside, expecting there to be a creeper. Stampy expresses his plans to build a minecart track leading to the top of his crafting room so he can travel as he pans up and across to reveal a single line of wood leading across to the crafting room, and then he returns back inside, accidentally patching up the hole with snow only to rapidly replace it to its original state afterwards.
Stampy admires that his house is connected together and that his house has become so big that he requires a minecart track to travel between as he returns back up to the middle of his house. Upon returning, he encounters a creeper directly in the confines of his house, unsure as to what particular reason he is present there for, and the creeper immediately blows up said part of his house, ending up damaging a majority of the hallway. Stampy is distraught over the damage done to the house, and he immediately finds out that it's the same creeper chasing him at the top, having ended up following him into the house. Stampy attempts to replace the blocks that he can, and he decides to leave it alone to clean it up later. Having run out of updates to show the viewer on his house, Stampy moves onto the Love Garden.
Reaching it, Stampy explains the basic purpose of the Love Garden, only to be interrupted of his description as he sees a sheep and equips some red dye. Continuing on has he walks to the sheep in front of him, Stampy continues that the purpose of the Love Garden is that if his viewers leave a comment, their gamertag, a funny message, their name, or just about anything, he will erect a sign in said viewer's honour. Stampy walks up to the area where he found the sheep, only to see it's gone, much to his dismay.
Returning back to the Love Garden, Stampy explains why he is desperate for wool in that he is building a lighthouse, which he requires red wool for, and charges at any sheep with no disregard for current priorities in order to gather its wool for the lighthouse. Stampy approaches the Love Garden again, giving a shoutout to:
- "Moochagra Prophet", replacing one of Ank55's joke signs with the name;
- "DaRk WyVeRn z", someone who has been present in past videos.
Stampy wonders if that is everyone who is newly added to the Love Garden. Finding the update to be small, Stampy immediately accepts it anyway and moves on. Stampy reiterates the rules about the Love Garden as he travels back down to his lava room to show the progress made on it, recommending that people simply do something creative, recommending that everyone doesn't simply write down gamertags due to it being a boring endeavour and that gamertags are usually impossible for him to read due to occasionally being a random variation of letters and numbers. At the lava room, Stampy shows that the lava room has been filled to the brim in its intended areas, and he says that he doesn't like to be in the lava room that often as it reminds him of Snowy, and he goes to leave the bottom of his entrance area by traveling up and visiting the doghouse via the main entrance to take a dog with him to accompany him in his lighthouse project.
On his way into the lighthouse, Stampy explains that the purpose of the lighthouse is for it to be a visible area, which is what lighthouses are generally for anyway, having it serve as a landmark for people who spawn in his world to walk to. Stampy randomly picks a dog and assigns an identification to it, and decides that he has picked "The Arbiter", the sign of whom is notably at the very end of the signs, the name being one of his subscribers' suggestions. Leaving the doghouse, Stampy expresses the wish that he builds the lighthouse in the same episode he started it in, traveling over to the general planned location. He also states that he is by himself in the video, and though HitTheTarget98 was with him, he went camera shy and decided to leave the video before it had started. Having mentioned HitTheTarget98, Stampy is reminded that he should investigate his fortress again to check on the status of his dog army. Stampy is tempted to kill a minority of his dogs, for two reasons:
- It's an evil dog army trying to take over his world;
- Too many dogs prevent other animals from spawning, preventing him from gathering wool for his lighthouse, and would rather kill HitTheTarget98's dogs than his own to accomplish it.
Moving onto the lighthouse itself, Stampy shows off his basic foundation he made prior to the episode, showing the basic beginning shape as well as the main door that features a spiral staircase concept that stops facing the direction of his house, the main floor featuring a chest and crafting table, so he doesn't have to work everything out on his own during the video itself. Stampy explains the basic pattern for the lighthouse in that it will be a white-red-white-red pattern up to the top, leading to a cluster of glowstone at the top which will light up the area around. Stampy points over at his igloo, which is not far away from the lighthouse. Stampy explains the basic player route to the lighthouse in that they will travel over to the lighthouse, the lighthouse then telling them to go to the bridge, leading them essentially directly to his main house. Stampy decides to stop his explanation and starts to build the first white stripe of the lighthouse.
Building the first white stripe of the lighthouse[]
Stampy starts adding a second layer of snow to the first layer he already has, wrapping around left from the door. He clarifies that he won't simply stop commentating and will just do something productive instead of constantly expositing information to his viewers. Due to already having completed the stairs, all Stampy has to do is repeatedly place down blocks in the same shape over and over again to complete the lighthouse as planned. Completing the second layer, Stampy ponders if he should build anything inside of his lighthouse, seeing that he has a vacant area where he can build something somewhat interesting, building up two extra layers of snow to the two he already has to extend upwards quicker, questioning what actually exists in lighthouses for him to add inside of his own. During his contemplation, Stampy recalls the fact that people actually live in lighthouses.
Stampy drops down, only having completed the process of adding by two halfway, and contemplates how he should add to the lighthouse. He also clarifies that he will sleep in his igloo instead of his main house as he can't be bothered to walk all the way back home every time. Stampy walks through the door and into what is currently the lighthouse to show his supplies for the lighthouse, showing a stack glowstone dust, two stacks of snow blocks, a stack of logs, and a stack of red wool, necessitating him to not require contintuously going back and forth between his house. Stampy jumps back onto the outline of the first stripe to continue building it, and finds that he'll only have to continue repeatedly placing down blocks in rows. Finding this to be a problem as it is also turning to nighttime, Stampy complains about it in that it is more entertaining to see him exploring, and says that though the entire point of Minecraft is to build things, he finds that videos of people simply building things can be "dumb and boring" as he goes to add the fifth layer of snow to his lighthouse in the same way he added the second layer. Stampy says it is unfortunate that he most of the video will be him placing blocks repeatedly as he causes himself to fall down by standing on a stray snow block he has to break. He follows on that the entertainment value is lost due to having no one else with him, going to his igloo to sleep, in that what normally can be considered funny in his videos is because of other people within his videos, such as someone attacking his dogs or generall doing something stupid, and that because he is by himself, things are less likely to go wrong, said circumstance making everything funny in the first place.
Stampy returns back to what he is currently doing by pointing out that he is going to sleep in his igloo, and is distracted by the sight of sheep on the hill behind the igloo, made enthusiastic upon the sight. He sees what he believes is a pig from the distance along with the sheep, characterising it as a Disney plot in that the two rare animals make friends. Taking a closer look, however, he finds that it's actually a pink sheep. He attacks the pink sheep to gather its wool without killing it, though The Arbiter ends up killing it off-screen anyway, and questions why it's possible for a pre-dyed sheep to only be pink while every other sheep remains blank. Stampy also goes to gather some red wool from some blank sheep, and then witnesses some pigs in the distance, questioning if they are more pink sheep, which they aren't. Stampy returns back into the igloo, wishing to be able to entrap sheep and not have them despawn so he could have an endless supply of pink sheep, following on that he wishes to have a farm where all of the animals are pink, though he immediately fidns the only animals so far that can be pink are pigs and sheep. Entering into his igloo, Stampy attempts to lure The Arbiter to follow him inside, only for him to refrain from doing so. This greatly annoys Stampy as he questions why his dogs don't like the interior of the igloo.
Stampy takes his as an opportunity to show his final additions to the igloo, having added beds and supplies to every possible corner as well as a furnace in the middle of the room with coal in advance, adding a torch on top of it because he simply can. As he sleeps and then leaves the igloo, Stampy informs the viewer of a method to allow players to place torches onto blocks that typically only open upon using the use button on them, he instructs that glass should be placed behind the actual object so the torch will automatically be placed onto the intended object, due to glass not allowing torches to be placed on it.
Stampy exits out of the igloo, and sarcastically points out that there is a duo of spiders, a creeper, and a burning zombie atop the hill behind him. He also sarcastically continues that the lighthouse looks "pretty" what with it being an unfinished mess with barely anything on it, and continues that it won't work because he isn't building it, and also adds that creepers being around the area isn't a good thing anyway. Stampy informs the viewer that dogs won't attack creepers, making The Arbiter useless in such an event. He sees a creeper behind the unfinished lighthouse, and decides that he should just kill it. He goes to check around the area for if there are anymore before continuing with his final decision, contemplating whether or not to lure it away, only to be reminded that creepers don't blow up in the water. Stampy finds there is a second creeper, attempting to lure then towards him so he can drag them into the water, demanding The Arbiter to stay behind. Though Stampy has led himself into the water, the creepers have failed to follow through due to having lost interest, and he lures only one of them into the water. He compares the creepers losing interest to stealth games when a guard notices an enemy, the player, infiltrating the base and alerting everyone else, only to lose interest immediately afterwards. Stampy causes the creeper to blow up, dismissing his theory and hurting himself as well as The Arbiter. Stampy leaves the water to return to the lighthouse, giving The Arbiter some porkchops to heal him, and says that he is easily distracted by everything once more. Stampy sees the second creeper by the lighthouse and tries to kill it, only causing it to blow up instead. Stampy decides to leave the hole the creeper caused and fix it off-camera, and then hears what he thinks is the sound of a block being placed, speculating that The Arbiter is building for him.
Stampy clarifies how high he wants each of the colours to be, at first deciding to make each one eight blocks high at first, and then changing his mind and deciding to make it seven blocks high, deducing that he only has two layers remaining before he moves onto the first red layer. Stampy questions how much he will complete during the episode, apologising for his lack of urgency, continuing to build the fifth layer of white for his lighthouse. Due to building out of wool eventually, Stampy also informs his viewers about how to dye wool, reconsidering doing so as his viewers may already be aware and then getting interrupted by the sound of The Arbiter getting hurt by something. Stampy questions the cause, wondering if there is a zombie inside of his lighthouse, recalling that it would be burning if there was. Stampy believes that The Arbiter is lying about being hurt, calling it out as "crying wolf" and describing it to be ironic in the The Arbiter is a wolf already. Returning back to the lighthouse, Stampy comments that he is building it awfully and without dignity, explaining the reason in that it is because he rushes during a video, causing the build to end up "rubbish". In the corner of his eye, Stampy sees The Arbiter jumping off of the stairs and hurting himself again, realising it to be the cause and being disappointed in his stupidity because he is continuously climbing up the stairs only to jump off the landing.
Completing the layer of white, Stampy dashes over to The Arbiter, constantpy placing blocks down in futile attempts to stop him. Stampy ends up having to use The Arbiter causing himself to jump down to the entrance as a method to stop him, and he rapidly goes to sit him down by the entrance for his unruly behaviour. Stampy scolds The Arbiter, describing him as too much of a plonker to simply not fall down off of high surfaces, and sees him sulking as a result of his punishment. Stampy, on the ground, counts up how many layers of white he has already built up and only has to build up one more according to his planning. Stampy sees The Arbiter sitting down and looking at him, and as he starts building the final layer of white, he explains to The Arbiter that it's for his own good, in that he is unable to preventing himself from being injured while walking around, saying he doesn't deserve it. While building up the final layer, Stampy reminds himself that all he has to do is complete said layer and then move onto red wool, repeating the process again. Seeing how little he has done in the current episode, Stampy believes himself to be unable to complete the lighthouse within the very episode, and he notices a formula of building only partway in one video and then seeing the final result in the next.
Building the first red stripe of the lighthouse & adding some of the stairs[]
Having completed the first layer of white the full planned way, bar the doorway as of yet, Stampy starts placing down the red wool, which he comments is "extremely bright", and he starts contemplating whether or not his lighthouse will appear too much like a square to be a lighthouse, and he hopes that once it reaches a particular size and will appear better from a distance. He applies this logic to everything he builds looking better from a distance because it can't be seen as well, adding that standing far away and squinting one's eyes makes anything he builds look good, adding the next three layers to the first layer of red wool for the lighthouse. He questions if he has built it too high, returning to building up by adding two blocks instead. Stampy goes silent, finding that there isn't anything interesting to say when all that one is doing is simply placing blocks down in a game, and finds it comedic when a commentator comments about every little action they make, using an example of repeatedly pointing out placing down blocks and placing down blocks incorrectly and fixing it, saying he doesn't find there to be a point in doing so.
Stampy also adds that he hopes his viewers like uploading his videos to his main channel, continuing with his motive for making two separate channels, wrapping around to when he started adding up by three layers, in that multiple people would be against him adding his Let's Play videos to his produced videos, preferring them to be separate from the longer Let's Play videos like the one he is currently in, and he begins going onto a speech about the conflict of him potentially making Minecraft one of his primary sources of viewer entertainment. He continues in how he thought he was making so much content for his second channel that many people on his main channel didn't even know existed in general, thinking the second channel is a waste. Gathering more red wool, Stampy states that it made more sense for him to merge the channels together by having everything on his main channel, crafting some more logs into planks. He offers his viewers to clarify whether or not they want him to do this as he is aware that the Minecraft videos he makes are not for everyone, but won't upload one every single day and won't make a continuous streak of Minecraft videos as he starts to add up the stairs to extend them up to the current height of the structure.
Additionally, he will not turn out to make less content that his viewers actually like, and that he will simply have all of his videos in one place instead of being separate spontaneously. He hopes his viewers like his decision, and he was previously going to leave it up to a vote, only to decide against it as he can decide for himself. Stampy continues that it made more sense for his videos to be in one place instead of all of his content being split, and he hopes that his viewers agree with him, as well as that he understands their viewpoint if he did such a thing. Stampy remarks that there is only a select few commentators he would watch do something like Minecraft as opposed to most other things, mainly the Yogscast, stating that Lewis' content is entertaining and understands that his viewers will not like him doing this style of content. Stampy also explains that he will plan to feature other peoples' Minecraft worlds on his second channel, only on the Xbox 360 version due to being niche, and doesn't own the PC version to tour worlds how everyone else does as of yet, and plans to purchase it at some point. As he continues building up the fifth layer, Stampy explains the basic instruction for offering up a world tour in that his viewers send in their gamertag along with a short description of their world, building up the fifth and sixth layers of wool, and continues that his viewers must only apply if the world is impressive. After recapping the basic concept of his offer, Stampy returns back to discussing the lighthouse.
Stampy sees the red layer and worries if he has built it too high, jumping down onto the stairs to verify. Finding that he has already run out of red wool to be able to officially complete the layer, Stampy states that it is unbelievable how he has expelled his wool supply, and prepares some substitute dirt to place for the last section of the wool. He returns back to the stairs that he was building during his speech, checking if they are accurate to how he wishes to lay them out. Failing to work it out and only getting confused, Stampy tries to finish off the stairs at it turns to night again, and also hears a thunderstorm outside of his house in the real physical world, finding it to be comical that he thought the lightning was in the game and that the wool was going to be destroyed as a result of lighting being struck down onto it. Stampy travels back down his unfinished stairs as he delcares he will return to his igloo to sleep in it and reset it to daytime, deciding to fill in the open area above the door before leaving to avoid a creeper blowing something else up in the video. Stampy closes the door again as he makes his return back.
On his way there, Stampy looks back at his lighthouse, complimenting it in that he believes it looks enough like a lighthouse as it is, telling his viewers to imagine the pattern repeated four times over with glowstone on top. Stampy explains his final plans for the episode in that he will sleep in his igloo and then check out what HitTheTarget98 is building. Though he is about to enter into his lighthouse again, Stampy is interrupted by the sight of some sheep, rapidly going to dye them red to steal their wool for his lighthouse and attempting to avoid a zombie among the commotion. Stampy attempts to lead the zombie to be killed by The Arbiter, only for The Arbiter to end up doing absolutely nothing to the zombie but decide to attack a sheep he is currently attacking himself, something Stampy points out the logic of in irritation. Returning back to the igloo and sleeping, Stampy relays the actions that The Arbiter has done so far, having been jumping off of high structures and causing himself to be hurt.
Checking on HitTheTarget98's fortress a second time[]
Before leaving the igloo, Stampy gathers some of the bread supplies to regain health in advance, not giving any to The Arbiter even though Minecraft wolves don't accept bread either way. Leaving the igloo, Stampy paranoically checks for any creepers, finding a burning zombie instead, as well as a cow, accidentally calling it a pig, which he sends The Arbiter to kill. Stampy also hears thunder in the background in the real world again, stating that it makes the atmosphere more dramatic as he goes to return back to his house. Stampy sees a creeper by his lighthouse, demanding it to not blow up as he hasn't even finished the lighthouse itself.
Having crossed the bridge, Stampy reconsiders his decision to sleep in the igloo, having to travel all the way across to the other side of his world, as well as explaining that he will plan to add a minecart track leading from the igloo to his entrance, and may build it in the future. Stampy goes to attack a pig with his iron sword, causing it to vanish out of existence having used up the last health point on it, and he ends up using his hand to attack the pig instead, replacing the sword's original position with the porkchop gained via the pig. Stampy jokingly tests the doorbell before entering through the main entrance of his house, explaining that he is cautious about enemies spawning inside his house, adding some glowstone to the ceiling of his storage area in an attempt to remedy it, preferring it over zombies and skeletons inside his house despite thinking it looks ugly.
Stampy travels up and into the fortress on the hill from the Love Garden, curious as to his progress due to him not saying anything and only working on the fortress according to what he has seen of him. Entering inside the fortress, Stampy sees that he has added some crafting tables and wall of furnaces, though lacking in coal, making them redundant, saying it looks "fortress-y". Stampy questions if it's all he has built overtime, and then finds a ladder leading to an area underneath the ground, finding a door leading outside, which is also where he first ever made his entrance into the fortress. Stampy also looks over at the dogs, finding only two, which doesn't qualify as an "army" and more of a "bodyguard", possibly having his lower ranks down further below. He sees a platform containing benches by the stairs, wondering to himself that it doesn't look "sinister", wondering if he was wrong about HitTheTarget98. Stampy is immediately disproven of his benefit of the doubt when he finds an armoury, finding three double chests completely filled with stone swords, counting up to 162 stone swords in total, said stone swords being gained in such a large number in the first place due to his fortress being mostly underground and primarily made of stone. Stampy also walks across to another room which he finds to be his bedroom, seeing a whole plethora of resources in the chests and questioning once again if he is stealing from Stampy. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, Stampy moves onto some other rooms, additionally finding a barracks and a dining room for the dogs, comparing it to Lady and the Tramp, calling it "romantic".
Stampy proceeds to leave the fortress, having explored it, apologising for the lack of progress made on his lighthouse during the video, and will finish the lighthouse in the next episode, and potentially build "bigger and grander" things proceeding from the lighthouse. He plans to build his minecart track soon, deciding to build it in the next video as he climbs on top of the fortress to look over his world. Stampy decides to end the episode looking over his world so far, and ends with the line "Cheers for watching, everybody, and I'll see you later."
