— Stampy on the aim for the mechanisms in his secret base. |
"Gadgets" is the 78th episode of Stampy's Lovely World. In this episode, Stampy builds various pointless mechanisms in his secret base with iBallisticSquid and L for Leeeee x.
Plot[]
Item frame replacement, the plan to finish the secret base & Stampy the guinea pig[]
Stampy opens the episode, commenting on the day as "bright and colourful". Stampy leaves his bedroom and enters the middle area as he announces that he will be finishing his secret base, and will do such with the help of L for Leeeee x, who drops down from the floor above, and iBallisticSquid, who is in his bedroom filled with water, which Stampy comments he spends most of his time doing. Stampy greets him and asks if he likes the bedroom, having modified it since when he made it, having removed the bulge at the bottom of the structure and replaced it with blue wool. Stampy sarcastically remarks the bedroom to be "lovely", and describes it as "dagnerous" upon depature as he comments that iBallisticSquid is only wearing a squid skin and can't actually breathe underwater. Stampy apologises for potentially letting him down that he isn't a squid, and then decides to give him the will to be a squid anyway, to which he responds by returning back into the bedroom at a rapid pace, though he advises him not to stand in the water, watching him go around to the other door.
While iBallisticSquid does so, Stampy updates that he has altered his storage area so that the signs are switched from signs to item frames so he can easily identiify the contents of each indvidual chest, using diamonds and cake as an example, which also makes it easier for anyone who hasn't visited his world before in that they can very easily locate the contents of each chest, which additionally means that his world isn't painted with signs. Stampy also shows an upgrade he made to the entrance area of his house that he didn't comment on in the previous video, updating the floor of the entrance bridge so it's sandstone lined with glass in a parallel straight, with the main entrance featuring a sandstone ring and a "carpet" following on from the entrance bridge's pattern, comparing it to a red carpet. Leaving the front entrance, Stampy describes that he had built the front entrance when he first got Minecraft, and it was basically his first house besides the "shack" he spent a single night in. Stampy had found the entrance to be "rubbish" due to it being mostly wooden planks, and has decorated it to feature a sandstone ring on the exterior, wrapping all around the back, which Stampy thinks makes his entrance look nicer.
Since he is present, Stampy decides he should enter the doghouse to pick a dog to take with him, unsure of who. Stampy decides to take Duncan with him, characterising him as the shy one, who is currently in the corner. Ducan also turns his head away as he buries himself into the wall, and he goes to stand him up as he describes him as "camera shy". Upon leaving via the main entrance, Stampy realises that L for Leeeee x lagged out of the game, and also notices something iBallisticSquid is doing, repeatedly playing a single note block, which Stampy simply remarks with "Keeping yourself entertained there?" With this, Stampy gives him a challenge, telling him to play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Much to Stampy's interest, iBallisticSquid expands the note blocks to attempt to play it accurately. Stampy wonders if iBallisticSquid will "blow his mind" and actually play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" as expected. He gives him 15 seconds to tune his set, telling iBallisticSquid that Duncan is getting impatient as he waits for him to play it. Counting down from five, Stampy tells iBallisticSquid to start playing, and announces the cover. iBallisticSquid plays two piano notes, and then ends up playing some bass notes on his way to change to a different note, which Stampy finds to be comical. Stampy compliments his attempt, and then tries to call for order, telling iBallisticSquid to also invite L for Leeeee x back into the game again. Stampy shows his viewers his finished nether wart farm that he had also created in the previous episode, previously only adjusting a single row before running out of supplies. Stampy asks if the nether wart farm looks "bright and colourful", and then proceeds to harvest and replant them as he comments on the irony of the nether wart looking coloruful and that it doesn't look like a collection of warts. On the topic of his farm as a whole, Stampy finds his farm to look appealing what with the various materials in a row.
Since he is in the farm, Stampy is also near the Love Garden, which he prepares to go to immediately after to give someone a shoutout. While running towards the Love Garden, Stampy gets caught in the wall of his crafting room, causing the textures to glitch, and then sees Duncan and Sparky playing with each other before the former pushes the latter into the tree farm, remining him of what happened in the previous episode with Aqua. Sparky inevitably exits from the collection point of his tree farm, and then gets the idea to build a dog assault course. He considers adding one to Stampy's Funland, simiarly to Krufts, where dogs run over bridges and past cones, wondering if he should make the dogs follow him for the course, considering it to be fun, offering a dog competition where his viewers vote as to who won. In regards to the Love Garden, Stampy gives a shoutout to "Sean + Ryan", who he won't say the surname of as the former's mother didn't want the full name to be on the internet. Ryan had messaged Stampy that Sean, who is his son, loves Stampy's videos, and is only six years old, Sean having sent him a message about how a guinea pig was voted to be named "Stampy", pointing to "Stampy the guinea pig" underneath their names, which is apparently happenning in an American school. To give clarify, Stampy is adding Sean, his dad Ryan, and Stampy the guinea pig together, thanking Sean for messaging him, and telling him to say "hello" to the guinea pig on his behalf, as well as pet it.
Adding random pointless machinery to the secret base[]
Due to hearing all of the noises of being hurt in the background, Stampy wonders what is happening with Sparky, calling him "the world's clumsiest dog", having heard him collide with walls multiple times over and hurting himself, though Stampy adds a "to be fair" to his statement due to L for Leeeee x having a similar tendency of dying, calling owners to be like their pets not only in looks. Afterwards, Stampy goes underneath to his secret base to continue building, though he doesn't know what to do, contradicting the norm as he usually has an idea of all resources and positions beforehand, and will start to add things randomly, hoping it to look cool. Stampy plans for the room to be as some form of "gadget center" like in James Bond films where he talks to Q. Additionally, the Batcave in some form, though in this case, the "Catcave". Stampy already has some brewing stands prepared, and he plans to craft some more, though he needs a crafting table to be able to do so in the first place, which he crafts and places down. Stampy also has some of the broken half slabs and expands the table, to which he informs his viewers that they can watch his previous episode to know how he made the slab-full block hybrid as he did. Stampy sees that there is a potion glitching on one of the brewing stands, much to his interest, and the glitch then disappears. Ignoring this, Stampy proceeds by saying that he will have redstone mechanisms scattered around, such as pistons repeatedly enabling and disabling, note blocks playing, as well as minecarts riding around to make it appear as though he is developing new research mechanisms.
Starting to break away part of one of the edges, Stampy also states that he will have an armoury with items frames featuring weapons in the event of something attacking him. Since he was originally planning for Hit The Target to attack him, it had turned out he was "a really nice guy" and "really friendly", so it doesn't matter anyway. Stampy decides he should do what he can to stay safe anyway, as Hit The Target has opened him up to Minecraft's dangers and that not everyone is friendly, though it turns out he was. Stampy starts building another platform with the broken stone slabs, explaining that he is building a security camera. He adds some grey wool to serve as a television screen and surrounds it in note blocks, stating that he will set up security cameras around his world in the event of a hostile mob just hanging around his world, or outside of his front door, and can see them clearly. Due to the sides being made out of note blocks, Stampy sees iBallisticSquid trying to play with them, explaining that the note blocks are intended to be speakers. Stampy requests his helpers to adding redstone for some form of gadget-type structure, and tells iBallisticSquid to stop playing with the note blocks to prevent him from "blowing the spakers" as he had just put them on. Stampy decides to add some antennae to the top of the telvision, crafing two levers and a button to make it appear as a television. Stampy walks over to one of the walls, the wall for the panic room to be exact, finding that L for Leeeee x is pointing to iBallisticSquid not to build there, though he is unsure what to call it as a room, deciding to call it a safety bunker as it isn't necessarily a nuclear bunker since there isn't a nuclear element in Minecraft. Having added a button, Stampy nerdpoles and stairs some dirt onto the unfinished television and adds the antennae at the top, though he is disappointed that he can't make it work with redstone since it's only possible. Stampy rearranges one of the anntenae to point it in the correct direction, and then checks the design, concluding it looks like a 1970s television. Stampy tests the camera, enabling a camera to scan his theatre, his dock, his doghouse, to which he remarks that his world is safe as it is, his living room, finding Fred, and then his clubhouse to see Henry on the platform. Stampy disables the camera, having found that he has a working security camera, and then moves onto what his helpers are doing.
Stampy questions what exactly L for Leeeee x is building in the form of redstone randomness, and is inspired to copy them, possibly adding a bunch of pistons together. He wants his secret base to sound noisy and that there is a lot of mechanics and machinery happening underneath. Stampy starts building another platform on his floor out of the broken stone slabs, making a 3x3 shape. Stampy crafts some repeaters so he can start playing with them and therefore play with redstone, preparing his viewers for the fact that he is doing so. Stampy assures his viewers that he is making redstone of the sake of appearances rather than function, meaning he can excuse it if it doesn't work. He starts to create a redstone clock in its traditional design, planning to set it off. Stampy notices Duncan being close to him to the point of accidentally sitting him down, finding that he isn't camera shy and has come out of his shell. Stampy finds that he needs the redstone to lead somewhere, deciding he should add pistons around the corners and have them constantly extending, hoping it to look cool. With the setup complete, Stampy has to set it off, wondering how to do so. Eventually, Stampy places the redstone torch down correctly, and sets off the piston loop, finding it to be entertaining.
Stampy sees Duncan next to one of the pistons, offering him to test it out for what he was referring to earlier about dog rides, and he pushes Duncan onto one of the pistons. Stampy sees him being raised up and down consecutively, and finds that he likes the experience, though he doesn't appear too positive about it. He calls the repeating piston loop his method of researching how to make the most fun for his dogs, thinking he can position one of his dogs on the pistons and have them consistently raised and lowered by the piston. Stampy wonders what blocks he should add to the pistons as well to be pushed up and down, finding pumpkins to be an acceptable idea, but he denies it, and then questions other possible options for crafting. He switches between TNT and melons, and then decides to have cake, though he rejects the idea immediately after due to taking a long time to make them. He proposes he adds note blocks since they appear technical. Stampy sees that they aren't acting according to the pistons, and misinterprets the issue as the fence blocking the shot. Eventually, he realises that they can't interact with pistons, which he finds to be annoying. Stampy considers crafting an iron block, and then concludes that he can additionally make a gold block upon the realisation that he is capable of doing so. Stampy also considers crafting a diamond block as he adds the iron and gold blocks to the mechanism, though he sympathises with Duncan due to him repeatedly being raised and lowered by the pistons. However, he finds that his emotions are somewhat in the middle about it.
Stampy wonders if he should add something to the middle of the structure, wondering if he should add a piston to the middle, only to find that it doesn't work anyway, deciding to place a redstone torch in the middle instead. With this, Stampy deems his "machine" complete, calling it "Stampy's Pointless Machine" in that it appears as though it is doing something but really isn't. Stampy also considers adding minecarts around the area, which he had the gold for in advance. Stampy sees that he lacks gold due to the gold blocks on the machine, and then walks over to the other side to investigate the structure his helpers have made, finding a full-scale red and white building by L for Leeeee x, much to Stampy's curiosity. Behind it is something else made by iBallisticSquid, which is best describe as various redstone mechanisms that don't have any function, only to collide with one of the pistons in the head of his player character.
A minecart dispenser thingimajig[]
What with him lacking in gold, Stampy explains that he will return back up to gather more and return to the secret base to set minecart tracks around with detector rails. Using his water elevator, Stampy equips his sword due to it being night, thinking it may be turning to day again, and he rises up to the surface of his lake, checking for hostile mobs since they often appear in his lake and don't despawn. Stampy visits his storage area to gather more gold as he recommends his viewers give him suggestions as to what he should build extra, since it's main to look cool since there's no real use. Stampy realises that he had already made power rails, finding an entire stack of them, though he takes 14 of them, additionally finding that he can add more note blocks and dispensers. Gathering his resources, Stampy decides to return down via the waterfall as opposed to his painting entrance, since it was supposed to be the main way of descending down into it as it is intended to make the player descend straight down directly, though he finds himself being pushed by the stream for the watefall.
Descending down into the water elevator again, Stampy comments on his creation doing something pointless, and decides he should add note blocks directly next to it, adding a broken stone slab to add a note block on top, hoping it interacts wiith the redstone. It doesn't, however, and Stampy realises he needs the signal to enter directly, now having to do actual redstone. Stampy decides to extend the platform out by one more so the redstone can line itself directly to the redstone clock, seeing that it still works with the piston system. Stampy decides he should also copy it on the other side, and then removes the note block on one of the pistons since it doesn't work on them, needing to add a different block, deciding to add a diamond in case he gathers more. Stampy adds the second note block and modifies the tune, and concludes that he has added some noise to the machine. Stampy also sees Duncan on the piston, still being raised and lowered, however actually standing up, Stampy finding that he is actually liking the experience.
Moving onto the power rails, Stampy starts to build it where L for Leeeee x's structure once was, starting with a power rail, deciding to use power rails completely, though he realises he needs some actual rails to add the corners. Stampy also offers adding crafting tables and furnaces scattered around the place as they look mechanical, before he is bombarded by iBallisticSquid with rails, seeing that he was actually given a stack of rails, though he is fine with it anyway due to the idea of too much being better than too little. Stampy loops the rail around with a gap in the middle, planning to also add detector rails so he can have redstone tramsitted around the area. Stampy continues adding his power rails, only to find that the sound has been dimmed out due to the "machinery" being disabled, comparing it to when it rains constantly in Minecraft and suddenly stops. Stampy fills in the sides of the rails with power rails, adding two detector rails onto the other sides, and then goes to his crafting table as he admires the machine he had created, though he wonders how much Duncan likes it himself. Stampy wonders if he has the resources to create a detector rail, only to find that he doesn't, and is then bombarded by iBallisticSquid with detector rails, joking that he should've simply asked him, and then apologises for calling him "lazy" prior.
Stampy adds the detector rails to the middle of the power rails, and then trails the redstone over to iBallisticSquid's mechanisms. However, he rejects this, and Stampy instead decides to loop it around in complete and total improvisation since he simply wants a result. Stampy adds dispensers to the end of the trail, facing them into one another, and then wonders about his snowball supply, wanting either them or arrows to be inside of them. Stampy now has to craft a minecart for the rails that he can have loop around, making his second random machine. Stampy crafts the minecart, and then returns back to his redstone mechanism to tell his helpers to arrange the torches as one in-between two power rails so it should light them up fully. Stampy sets off the minecart he has on the rail, only to find that it continually keeps getting blocked. He investigates the materials inside, and informs his helpers that they need to be projectiles so they don't collide with the minecart.
Stampy decides the technicality doesn't matter as of yet, thinking instead to fix it after the video and will also add more gadgets and material in general, and then he looks over at iBallistic's note block-piston loop machine, calling it "awesome". Stampy explains that he will continue building with L for Leeeee x and iBallisticSquid after the video, and will return to Stampy's Funland to build a dunking booth, which is where a player fires an arrow, or throws a snowball / egg at a target, and the target being hit will lead someone to be dunked into some water below, which building Stampy hopes will be fun. Stampy then ends the episode with the line "But sadly as I said, though, uh, that is the end of this video, so I just wanted to say, thanks for watching, and I will see you later. Byeeee!"
