"She basically just spends all day just shopping. She just - shops all day, she just loves to shop, she is a shopaholic [laugh]. And yeah, she's over there, but she doesn't have a proper house..." |
— Stampy explaining why he's building a residence for Harriott, as she currently doesn't have anywhere to live. |
"Harriot's House" is the 265th episode of Stampy's Lovely World. In this episode, Stampy and L for Leeeee x begin building a residence for Harriott dubbed "Harriott Hill".
Plot[]
Wonky boots & it doesn't look right![]
Stampy opens the episode, introducing L for Leeeee x. He teases to his viewers that something is 'wonky' and points to the boots that he got from Santa during Christmas 2013, which have been tilted to the side. He's been saving the boots for a special occasion, eventually. However, today is not that occasion as it's the day for a project. Stampy then requests a cake from L for Leeeee x, which he eats up as his friend repeatedly jumps on top of it. Because of this, he orders that he be given another cake later on. Stampy then moves onto the Love Garden, where he says that he adds people to it and the only rule is not to ask to be added, and he gives a shoutout to "CrazedWithLove" for a comment they wrote, reading:
"Stampy: It looks ok...
Me: yeah i think so too :)
Stampy: No no no that doesn't look right, forget it
Me: Oh no no no it doesn't look right..."
Stampy then visits the doghouse to pick his newest dog, who he wants to take with him frequently now, that being Luna. Stampy realizes her tail is low and feeds her to raise it.
Building the walls of a cottage for Harriott[]
Stampy then leaves the doghouse, not going towards the entrance of his house but instead to the side where his bedroom is. He intends to build a new house for Harriott, his second villager that currently journeys around his town without somewhere to live, as she has somewhere to return to after a day's shopping. He points out that Harrison lives on Harrison Hill, which is next to the mob trap, so he chose the hill opposite as the hill that Harriott can live on, where Stampy's First Shelter used to be. Copying L for Leeeee x, Stampy uses ender pearls to reach the top of the hill. He lands on top of the hill with Luna, and starts to level out the top of the hill with a shovel given to him by his helper, since he lost his previous shovel. The hill is leveled out, as Luna jumps in front of him and L for Leeeee x goes elsewhere. Stampy explains that the house will be of a similar build to Harrison's, being a cottage on top with a secret area underneath it. While Harrison's features a simple hangout area, however, Harriott's will feature a hat shop named "Harriott's Hats" because she has an affinity for hats, and Santa gifted her a hat sometime ago.
With the area leveled out, Stampy shows the materials he plans to build with. He has spruce wood logs, and starts laying them out in each corner with 4-block high pillars. In-between the pillars will be birch planks. The interior will appear normal and the exterior will be somewhat different to how he traditionally builds. For the front door, he builds four blocks between with a two-block gap for the doors, which are facing his house, but for the added detail, he uses cobblestone walls on each side of the pillar, which will then go across the third block, to serve the purpose of supports for the building. This is to make the building not seem similar to what he's built previously. The house is then extended back from the front by two, then expanding out by one with another spruce pillar starting the next part, which is built by three and ended with another pillar, featuring a 4-block window in the middle. The same is built on the other side to make the building symmetrical. He adds more cobblestone walls on the building's exterior. The back of the building is then made symmetrical with the front door, featuring a window of two blocks rather than a door. He finishes the exterior with cobblestone walls. He at first considered building the cottage out of the walls, but thought it was excessive.
Building the floor, interior, & roof for a cottage for Harriott[]
Seeing his helper building the roof for him, Stampy decides to build the interior. He states that the building will be a surprise for Harriott, because she has no idea the two of them are building a house for her. It will be two surprises in a way, however, because of the secret hat shop underground. For the floor, Stampy copies the pattern on the exterior by dragging the logs along to each side and connecting them up, though he acknowledges the floor is of little issue since the room will be filled. He also has to design the entrance to the shop, and considers using a bookcase as it's traditional, as he has redstone to create a mechanism. Stampy sees Luna outside the cottage and tells her that she can supervise L for Leeeee x as he's building the roof.
To begin with the interior, Stampy adds a crafting table, crafting a furnace using cobblestone from nearby and placing it next to the crafting table. He then crafts a cauldron and places it next to the furnace. Realising the interior area looks hollow, he adds cobblestone wall pillars to the interior and adds birch planks at the bottom, in line with the pillars on the exterior of the building. Stampy also realises he needs a bed, then crafts one and proceeds to add the secret mechanism. Using some bookcases he already has, he places a piston in the bottom corner of the back right of the room and places it in line with the floor, adding the entrance to the secret area two blocks next to it, which will cover the floor through extending it by default. Using one redstone dust to connect the piston up to the lever, he covers the hole with the bookcases and completes the secret entrance, with the lever on the bookcase itself. He adds a chest as a final detail right next to it.
Stampy considers that the hat shop underneath should have an entrance separate to the secret one so that others can directly enter it, then checks the progress made on the roof above by L for Leeeee x and checks his design. The roof is a set of birch stairs leading to logs facing vertically, and he approves the design. After, Stampy decides to visit Harriott herself while keeping the house a secret until he brings her to the house. However, he realises the house lacks doors and places them, and also refines the roof on the interior by making it slope using stairs. Since Harriott is no particular location, he searches for her in his town during the night, immediately finding her on top of Lovely Jubbley Flowers. Stampy wonders why she's out shopping at night and tells her to sleep, and then declares that he's run out of time before ending with the line, "Uh, but for now, I wanna thank you all very much for watching, and I will see you all later. Byeeeeee!"
