"I didn't mean this to turn into a redstone tutorial, but I thought I'd... uh, at least explain to you what it is I'm doing."
— Stampy realising that he is being distinctly instructive about his redstone for his dog-based obstacle course.

"Redstone Lesson" is the 108th episode of Stampy's Lovely World. In this episode, Stampy adds the last two mechanically-based obstacles to the course for his dog-based obstacle course.

Plot[]

A cake table, a tongue twister & hide and seek with Henry[]

Stampy opens the episode, introducing L for Leeeee x, Amy Lee33, Warn Liqdz and SALEMS LADY via player list. L for Leeeee x gives Stampy his cake, which he takes note of it being placed down on the floor. He realises that he has to invest in a table for the cake, as to prevent the cake from being simply dropped onto the floor and covering his carpets. Stampy decides to challenge L for Leeeee x to build a table while he leave his bedroom, planning to return back inside to see what he has created. Stampy greets SALEMS LADY in the main section of his house, confused as to the identity of her skin, recognising it as a black bear. Confusedly, Stampy gives him a pumpkin, and he considers it an offering for his breakfast, having some cake and pumpkin and calling it a "well-balanced meal", intending to mix it together to make pumpkin cake.

Visiting his Love Garden, Stampy gives a shoutout to "RETROACTIVEGAMES" for a tongue twister, having written a comment reading "STAMPY i thout of a tongue twister for your!! Here it goes! Stompy Stampys saw squids sea-saw sink so stampy went to the love garden to add me!! LIKE SO STAMPY CAN SEE!!" Stampy tries to prove that it is indeed a difficult tongue twister, and then states that he thought it was simply a funny comment, thanking him for making him laugh and additionally sound bad trying to do the given tongue twister. Returning back inside, Stampy notes a death message reading that Amy Lee33 had blown up, to which he symphatises with her for, and he then journeys back to his bedroom to find the dining set that L for Leeeee x had placed. Seeing it, Stampy admires the design, considering it "cosy", and then taking note of how close the seats are to the table, though he still considers it better than placing the cake down onto the floor. L for Leeeee x sets the cake down, and Stampy adds the pumpkin on top to make it a "pumpkin cake", which reminds him of something he promised to do with Henry by playing hide and seek with him, and continually forgot, causing Henry to hide since the previous episode and Stampy to fail to find him.

With this in mind, Stampy decides to try to find Henry, claiming to have no idea of his location due to not seeing him for a long time, hoping he hasn't wondered out of the house due to people failing to close doors, requiring him to chase after Henry and lure him back in. Stampy, after searching through the four middle rooms on the right wing of his house to find him absent, realises that he should find where door access isn't necessary, deciding to search up the clubhouse, only to not find him there either. Stampy decides to take his seeking as an opportunity to tour his house for those unaware of its contents, and then checks the bottom floor, noting how he initially hid in the clubhouse and being his former bartender, but has been more eager to be in his videos since then, liking attention after being shy and liking the pictures of him that people draw. Having searched around his house in near every location, Stampy wonders where he is as he doesn't find him, considering him a professional at playing hide and seek.

Eventually, Stampy finds him in the floor underneath the entrance to his house, much to his surprise, calling it a sneaky area to hide as he has built it ages ago and never comes down. Stampy says to Henry that he had found him, and decides on a rule to instead have Henry find Stampy. After playing hide and seek with Henry, Stampy decides to visit his doghouse, unsure of who to take with him, and upon entry, he notices them all to be rather eager. Stampy tells them that their position doesn't matter as he always picks out from the signs, noting that he had taken Duncan recently, and that Fluffy is at the SS Stumpy, additionally noting Barnaby and Flippy, and then deciding on Benton before taking Spring at the last second, characterising him as the one with long legs due to him having a "spring" in his step.

The plan to finish a dog assault course & digging out a room for redstone[]

Visiting his minecart track to set off over to Stampy's Funland, Stampy explains that the is building what he was in the previous episode, building the his dog-based assault course, which he had nearly finished in the previous episode in regards to the obstacles, and will complete it in the present episode, which he is aware that he says frequently and rarely lives up to. However, he only has two obstacles remaining, but they will include redstone. Stampy states that he is aware that he isn't the most experienced with the concept, but will try to do it regardless and will try to teach his viewers some redstone, though only under the assumption that most of his viewers have less experience than him. Arriving at Stampy's Funland, he warns his viewers to bear with him as he lacks relative experience, since he can work out the logic, but only does so at a gradual pace due to trial-and-error to work out the logistics.

Stampy states regardless that he is determined to have the redstone functional in the video, though it's relatively complicated, and he decides he should simply show what he is doing. Now inside of the course, Stampy reminds his viewers of how he had Barnaby racing through all of it. Stampy says that he has added a ramp, as well as fences to prevent easy escape once on top of the ramp. The dog will them travel over the water, through some pillars, and then through a tunnel, where the player is supposed to enter through while player goes over. However, the ladders led Barnaby to jump over instead, and he is aware of Spring's general demeanor, deciding to remove the bottom ladders on both sides so the dogs can enter through while the player climbs over.

Now on the final stretch, Stampy explains that he will have an iron door open and close repeatedly so the player needs to time it, and ahead of that will be a row of blocks extending up and down on a set of pistons, which he hopes to be an obstacle for the dogs. Stampy starts with the redstone by digging down, noting how he is in an area which doesn't contain a lake underneath, as most of Stampy's Funland is built over a lake, complicating the possibility of redstone when digging underground. Making progress so far, Stampy verifies that he is indeed not encountering water yet, and continues digging underneath to create a room underneath for an open space for his redstone. Digging said space, Stampy reveals a pit of lava, much to his surprise, and tells Spring to stay away as he looks up at him and doesn't want him to burn to death. Having not seen then yet, Stampy greets Amy Lee33 and Warn Liqdz, takes note of the location Spring is sitting in, which is the edge of the pit, and then thanks Amy Lee33 for giving him flowers again. He continues digging further, explaining how he intends to do the redstone in that he will create it with minecarts, meaning he will have a minecart loop around the track so it will send a redstone signal upon making contact with a detector rail, which will serve the result of having everything automatically switch in states, as he intends to use a single minecart track to activate both the pistons and the iron doors. Stampy is then alerted by water as L for Leeeeee x accidentally opens water into the room underneath, converting the lava into obsidian.

Stampy deems the area dangerous, and then blocks up the water, saying that he knew there would be water around the area, though it isn't as significant as other locations. Stampy realises that he doesn't actually have any pistons in hand, requesting one of his helpers to gather slime balls for sticky pistons. Said slime balls are in a chest within his house, telling his helpers to obtain slime balls prior to the end of the video for convenience's sake, and he can at least use his system without sticky pistons in case none can be found. Leveling out the floor from what the lava turned into after contact with obsidian, Stampy deems the lava to be handy, as it serves as a source of light, deciding not to completely fill it up, and that it creates a flat area, deciding it as the location for his minecart track. Still being overwhelmed by the water above, Stampy tells L for Leeeee x to remove as much water as possible, as the last time he attempted to build something of similar style underground, him trying to add redstone dust would lead the redstone to be destroyed on the overall.

Adding a minecart-based redstone system to add automatic obstacles for the dog-based obstacle course[]

With some excess water remaining, Stampy decides that the room underground should be big enough for the redstone, blocking off some final water, and decides he should start to lay down the minecart track. Stampy calls the method he is using as easy in regards to continually sending redstone signals, and then spreads torches around. Stampy realises what he mainly has to do in that he needs his "thinking cap", which is an iron helmet, stating that he will be able to work out what he expects himself to do. Stampy starts laying out the track, arranging power rails and rails. Since the former doesn't go on corners, Stampy starts by adding the first power rail, which he positions on the very edge, and then wraps the minecart rail around, only to run out of rails anyway, crafting some more and pointing out how he has enough iron to craft some more, though he notes that he may have wasted it making the "thinking cap". However, without the "thinking cap", he likely would've never tried on the redstone itself.

Stampy is given some extra power rails by SALEMS LADY who joined him underneath the room, which he admires the convenience of. Setting up the rails, Stampy positions a detector rail to send the signal, and then places redstone dust next to it, explaining that a minecart traveling over it will send a signal. He proceeds to demonstrate this by crafting a minecart and placing it onto the track, saying that he didn't want the video to turn into a redstone tutorial. Positioning the minecart onto the power rail, Stampy demonstrates the detector rail sends a redstone signal. Since the minecart will be constantly moving in a loop, the detector rail will continually light up, and every time it does, the doors will shut, otherwise they will remain open infinitely. Stampy adds two power rails on the ends of the longer sides of the rail, and then states that the power rails also need to be activated, which he can be done either by a detector rail next o them, or redstone torches.

Connecting the minecart system up to the door-based surface mechanism for the dog-based obstacle course[]

Having finished the main minecart track itself, Stampy hopes that it will allow the minecart to loop around and continually light up the redstone, which he finds it does. Now wit the main mechanism set up, Stampy leads on as he returns back up to the surface that he simply has to add a trail leading up to where he expects his iron doors to be, and notices that it's turned to night, finding that the rest of his helpers are seemingly absent. Stampy decides to accept it as the redstone is a boring process, and presumes them to have wanted to stay around when he was actually playing on the assault course due to it actually having an element of fun to it, and due to him now doing redstone, they aren't bothered to stand around and watch.

Stampy crafts a second iron door to add onto the one he already has, planning to add them both to a pillar, only to hear the mysterious sound of a cow's death, much to his confusion. Stampy walks outside and looks up to find a cow on the roof of the exterior of the assault course, much to his confusion, and he questions how they managed to reach that point in the first place, presuming them to have climbed up a ladder of some form. Stampy accepts that he simply has cows on the roof, remarking on how he was perplexed by the sight of there being "raining beef". Stampy then decides to expel his inventory as he gathers some orange wool, and then returns back inside to also craft some spruce planks to fill the floor back in upon completing it.

He tries to determine how he should set up the doors, deciding to add a 3x1 hole, and then planting a piece of orange wool in the middle to serve as a boundary, and then positions the iron doors down after replacing the spruce planks underneath. With the basic setup, Stampy describes the process that will inevitably happen in that the doors will repeatedly open and close, with the dog's only possible route being to enter via the sides, which the doors repeatedly opening and closing will add a difficulty factor to. Stampy then returns back down to the redstone room underneath via breaking part of the floor underneath him and dropping underneath, and then starts to trail the redstone from the minecart track to the orange wool from underneath, thinking to add a trail that travels straight up, using redstone torches repeatedly piled up vertically, sending the currently upwards, criticising his decision to try and implement it within the space he decided on. Stampy continues to raise the redstone torches up, only to realise that he needs to to extend the torch up by one more in order to reach. Seeing his own incompetence, Stampy rearranges the top torch to extend upwards, and reminds his viewers of his prior warning, even recommending he simply adds a symbol for in case he is actually doing redstone within an episode so people don't click and watch them.

Having set up the redstone for the doors, Stampy then connects the redstone from the minecart track up to the redstone torch at the bottom, finally completing the system and making the iron doors continually open and close. To verify this, Stampy nerdpoles back up to the surface and decides to test with Spring, standing him up and testing if he is able to get through them, which he hopes he does as he doesn't want his efforts to have been a waste. Spring repeatedly jumps through the doors back and forth, which Stampy admires, and he has an idea to set a competition between each of his dogs to see who can get through the course the fastest, with Barnaby being the most experienced in the previous episode, thinking that Spring exceeds past him due to his experience with the doors system.

Connecting the minecart system up to the barrier-based surface mechanism for & testing the dog-based obstacle course[]

Stampy then decides to move onto the second mechanism, considering it to be more difficult as it's pistons raising up and down. Returning to the surface again, Stampy sees L for Leeee x, Amy Lee33, and Warn Liqdz, questioning them on if they have obtained any slime balls, only to find that they haven't. With this knowledge, Stampy decides to simply use the normal pistons and replace them with sticky pistons later. He starts to carve out the area where the pistons will extend up and down, and the final area will be the final stage from that point onward. Stampy goes to craft three pistons, recalling the possible ingredients, finding the only necessary as cobblestone, redstone, iron and wood, and then returns back to position them in a row, telling his viewers to act as though they are actually sticky pistons rather than pistons, questioning the logic of how slime would make them slip rather than stick. Stampy then adds the wall, deciding to add the typical leitmotif of orange on each side with a white stripe in the middle.

Immediately, Stampy realises the mechanism is too high and need to be descended by one block so the blocks prop up once the pistons are raised. Stampy digs down and then sets up the basic design for the redstone leading into the pistons, only needing to link up the pistons afterwards, replacing what he had built before down one block. Now he has set up the system, Stampy returns back down in order to connect the detector rail to the pistons, stating that since they are pistons rather than sticky pistons, the blocks will only be raised up once and remain in that state. Stampy finds the location of the pistons, and starts to connect them by leading a trail of redstone from the same branching point. He decides to dig into the wall for extra room, saying that he is worried of the possibility of water sprouting at towards him, due to the redstone, being prepared to stop it in case some does just that. After giving more room, Stampy extends the redstone and starts to set it up, only to realise the bottom torch is making contact with the rest of the redstone. Stampy corrects this to make it so the redstone directs itself into the redstone torch, and then realises that he only requires a trail of redstone into the pistons, stating that he is only overcomplicating his circumstances.

Stampy continues to direct the redstone into the pistons, noting how it isn't at a high level and his only necessary is that they are aligned with the pistons. Stampy continues to give himself room for his redstone work, pointing out how the redstone is rather easy and he hasn't done something tricky, as it should be something anyone who says they can't do redstone can do, finding that he is making something that works, or at least attempting to, having not completed it yet. Stampy adds a trail of redstone two away from the pistons, and then directs the current into each of the three pistons themselves via redstone repeaters, though he has trouble positioning the last repeater. Now with both systems set up, Stampy deems the piston system as working, returning back up to the surface to verify if it's working as planned. He reveals the pistons working underneath the blocks due to the fact that they aren't sticky pistons preventing it from being clear that they are moving up and down, and he finds that they are doing as expected upon his return to the top. To act as a substitute, Stampy decides to use a sand and gravel arrangement to test if the pistons work, gathering some sand from the land in front, which he questions the snow patterns having been generated on. With the sand, Stampy returns back inside to set up the sand on the pistons for a real demonstration, the sand dropping up and down after doing so.

With the piston obstacle verified to have worked, Stampy decides to have a test, noting the lack of fences as well as the random block materials within the floor where the material doesn't match up with the rest of the floor, replacing the foreign blocks with spruce wood planks. After doing so, Stampy deems the mini-game as finished, planning to build a viewing platform and a dog memorial with signs for all of the dogs that have died, and then will have fun with all of his dogs on the course to see who the quickest dog is.

Stampy starts the test with Spring, pointing out how Barnaby completed the course will in the previous episode, telling him that he should try to do better, and then sets off the race. Stampy leads Spring over the ramp, telling him to ignore the cake, leading him into the water pit, through the pillars, and then through the tunnel. Now at the new obstacles, Stampy tells Spring that he was experienced with the doors prior, telling him that he isn't allowed to teleport, eventually getting through the final obstacle and across the would-be finish line, describing the time he had completed it in as "record time" and describing Spring as "a very speedy dog", praising him for efforts. Stampy deems the assault course how it is, realising that he has to come up with an actual name for it after calling it "Stampy's Doggy Assault Course", though he thinks he should choose that name, and then takes note of the cows above on his roof mooing, thinking that they are forming a method to get down from it. Stampy then says that he has run out of time for the video, planning to have a full tournament of the mini-game where it can be played properly with multiple dogs, as well as adding in all of the minor details. L for Leeeee x then having approached him, Stampy realises that his helpers have written down a sign for him, walking over to the front to find a sign reading "could not find any slimes", which he accepts anyway. Stampy thinks the assault course's piston obstacle works with the sand either way as it's how it should be either way. Regardless, he thanks them for attempting to gather and realises that they were hunting for slimes during their absence, which he appreciates. Stampy then ends the episode with the line "And I also appreciate all of you, uh, for taking the time to watch my video, and I will see you guys all in the next one. Byeeee!"
